Chef n PepperBall Pepper Grinder Black

Great idea, terrible execution - I ve been through three of these in less than a year and they ve all failed the same way - just like other reviewers mills, the handle snaps off near the base. These are comfortable objects and they do a great job of crushing salt or pepper, but the plastic construction just isn t made for long term use.

PepperBall experience - I have had exactly the same experience as other reviewers - one of the handles on the PepperBall snapped at its base after just 3 month s normal use. It has been replace by the shop without any problems but I m not hopeful of it enjoying a long life.

Weak - One of the arms has snapped within two months of purchase. I would be exercising my statutory rights except I received it as a gift. Come on Chef n - do your engineering right. Load-bearing parts need to be strong!

Looks good but not strong - Like another user I bought both the salt and pepper mill as they looked great and my wife and I like to use freshly ground pepper in cooking and when dining. Unfortunately, one of the operating arms broke on the pepper mill after about six weeks. My wife returned the product to the shop and was told that she must have dropped it as this has never happened before. After some discussion, the shopkeeper agreed to replace the pepper mill but today, after only two weeks of use, the same thing happened again in exactly the same place. This is obviously either a manufacturing or design fault so I would steer well clear of this product!

I should have learned the first time - This pepper mill and its sibling salt mill look great. My son broke - no was using - the first one I owned and I put it down to youthful exuberance. So I bought another and although it has been only me using it under normal operation this one has broken in exactly the same way. You cannot get to the broken part to even start attempting to mend it. There are much better mills on the market. Shame this one looks so nice.PS The salt mill has not suffered the same problem.
